LCT/LDN scholarship

Over the past years, we funded 25 beneficiaries from Senior Secondary School from the age of 13-20 years from Lango Sub-region, in northern Uganda. Many thanks to our funders Allan and Nesta Ferguson charitable Trust and Panasonic for topping up the fees.

  • Case Study 1: Solomon

Despite the odds against him, he successfully completed his training for a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, Mulago and runs a chemist in Lira, Uganda.

  • Case Study 2: Joseph

Joseph also an orphan who had aspirations to become a teacher, trained at Makerere University and qualified as a teacher.

  • Case Study 3: Stella

Stella’s case was presented as an exceptional student from a very poor family. She took science subjects and secured a bursary to complete her training at Mbarara University.

  • Case Study 4: Harriet

Harriet also an orphan and the first of her father’s fifteen children. With the help of LCT fund, she resumed a course in Population Studies at Makerere University of estimated fees of £2,819 and qualified.

  • Case Study 5: Daniel Abor

Daniel also an orphan benefited from the scholarship by studying at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in 2015. He graduated with a BSc in Education (Biology). "Many thanks to LCT and UK funders as I could have ended up as a street child."

  • Case Study 6: Musa Ramathan

Musa got LCT Orphans scholarship from Senior Secondary School and progressed up to Makerere University. He pursued a degree and qualified in BSc in Agricultural Land Use & Management (ALUM). He is currently a Deputy Head teacher of Rapha Girls Secondary School, Lira Lango Sub-region. He says, “ First and Foremost, thanks for the opportunity that donors and LCT scholarship gave me to open better future. I just can’t thank you enough for your generosity”.

  • Case Study 7: Aaron Odur

Aaron is an orphan from Bar sub-county, Lira District. LCT was notified of his case and he secured LCT orphans fund from 2018 to pursue training in Nursing and is finishing in 2020 at Lira School of Comprehensive Nursing. He states, “I am grateful and committed to my studies till the end with LCT support in order to transform my life, my family and the community.
